How many images do you take on the wedding day?

As many as it takes! Usually a Full Day would yield around 600 images. My philosophy is the more I take, the more variety you will have to choose from and the more of a story your album will tell to your family and friends.

Do you do frames or prints?

Yes, I can offer you a variety of frames from traditional wooden frames to acrylic magnets. From desktop prints to large canvas prints. It's best to see them in person.

Can I have black and white and color images in my coverage?

Yeap, you'll have the option of having black and white, sepia black and white or color images and for those who have the time to sit down with me, I'm always eager to do something new, something different. I'm also open to new ideas that you might have and I'll do my best to accomodate you.

That's the best thing about Give us a goo wedding packages as I do all the post processing and in house design. Only the printing and framing is outsourced to specialists in Europe.

How many photographers will be at my wedding?

You will always have me as your main wedding photographer. My wife, Patricia will generally join us on the day as not only a photographer but also as an assistant to myself and the bride and groom in every possible way imaginable. You wouldn't believe how many jobs she can tackle at once, from emergency clipping of the brides dress to capturing amazing photographic details of the wedding. Patricia and I will also be your photographers and assistants for the day.

Do I pay extra for the additional assistant photographer?

No. Patricia is there to ensure that the day runs smoothly and that I have someone to rely on at all times in case of emergencies. However, there are times when she is unavailable, if you would like an assitant photographer then please make the request at least two months before the wedding day.

What's your style of photography?

Usually I take traditional poses and artistic poses on each wedding I do with a lot of photojournalistic photos in between, this helps me to create an an album that can document all angles of your day. However there are times when a couple may not want any traditional poses, to which I approach the whole day as a photojournalist.

I would personally recommend doing a couple of posed shots, because usually the ma and da will ask for a "nice photo" to send out to friends or family. My parents requested a couple of shots at our wedding where we just "stood up straight and smiled" as my grandmother didn't understand why this generation's photos didn't have us looking directly into the camera and smiling.

Also, there's always a chance that your favourite aunty is late and then sits in a dark corner at the reception. Wouldn't it be terrible if she didn't appear in any of the shots? That's why it's a good idea to make a list for me to include any friends or family that must be photographed on the day.

Make sure to check out the wedding gallery to see some of my work!

Do I have to purchase an album from you?

No. You are not required to purchase the albums from me, but if you do, you will have a completely customised album as I don't outsource any design work at all. I design all my albums using only professional imaging software such as Adobe Indesign and Photoshop.

I feel that because I am in complete control of the entire process from taking the photos to the creation of a storybook album, what my clients receive is a genuine customised album. Too many photographers are relying heavily on digital templates from outsourced companies which means your album looks pretty much the same as everyone elses.

Also, because I don't outsource any of my albums, I can keep the costs down which is passed onto you. Happy days for all. There is a slight catch, there always is, the album can take awhile to create and print, so expect between 1 - 5 months after the wedding depending on how many pages your album requires.

Do you offer internet hosting of my images?

Yes. I will host your images online to share with family and friends until your wedding album is finished and in your hands. I can leave it up for longer if requested at an additional charge. I now include your own wedding website for as long as I'm in business no matter what wedding package you choose!

Is there an engagement session included in the package?

Yeap. If you would like, when we arrange to meet I'll have my camera and take a couple of shots to show you just how easy it is to take professional photographs no matter what the location. All engagement photographs will be supplied to you via an online password protected website. If you're happy with the shoot and securely book me for your wedding day then you can choose an engagement image free of charge to print at whatever size you choose, wherever you choose! For an additional fee, I can print & frame the image.

All I ask in return is that you request the engagement session at least two weeks in advance and that you read the Portrait FAQ so that you know what to expect from me. Additional surcharges may apply according to distance travelled.

Do we select the photographs that go into our album?

Definitely. I find the best way is for you to view the proofs in the comfort of your own home (usually on disc) and shortlist your favourite shots.  I then provide an initial design which can be changed as much or little as you wish. Ultimately it is your album, I'll provide design advice, but it is entirely up to you as to what images you choose and how involved you would like to be.

Do we have a choice of album styles?

Yes. I have a large variety of album styles to choose from and recommend visiting Graphistudio's website for brides for album styles available. Please visit them here.

Do you require a booking fee and if so, how much?

Please note that a non-refundable booking deposit of €150 must be paid to secure your wedding day. The remaining amount must then be paid before the wedding day or on the day itself. The sooner the deposit is paid then the sooner I can guarantee to cover your wedding on that day. Please understand that because most weddings happen during June and October, there are only so many weekends I can work and it is in your best interest to secure a wedding as soon as possible.

What happens if we want to cancel our booking?

I require a letter / email confirming that the booking is to be cancelled. The booking deposit is non-refundable.

Can we change the date of our booking?

Yes, subject to availability. To transfer your booking we require written confirmation by letter / email.

What's the difference between half-day and full-day coverage?

There are some couples who may not want the bridal/groom preparation photographs. They may not even want any reception photos. All they want is photo coverage of the ceremony and a couple of shots of them or their guests later. So if the shoot takes less than four hours it's considered half-day coverage. It usually breaks down as follows:

1 hour early arrival to ceremony location

1 hour ceremony

1 hour photographs of couple, family and guests

1 hour to cover late start, more photos and the possiblity of early reception photos*

*If the ceremony and reception are held at the same location or extremely close to each other then I will take as many photographs as possible of the reception untill the four hours is up!

I got married but I didn't use you as a photographer. Can you use his/her images to create an album?

As long as the other photographer has given you licence to use his/her images in an album of your own design then I don't see why not. However, depending on the quality of the photographs that you supply me with will depend on the quality of the album. The price will also depend on how much post production work is necessary to create a professional wedding storybook album. It's really best if you give me a ring and we can arrange to meet and see the photos that was taken by your photographer.

Why does it take so long before I get my album?

Patricia will kill me if I spent night and day working away at the computer. Three - five months isn't that long and to be honest, it really shouldn't be rushed. If you would like the album sooner then for an additional fee I could dedicate the majority of my time towards it but I really wouldn't recommend putting a time limit on creating something that is to last a lifetime.

Why are you giving your clients high resolution digital files instead of charging per image like most photographers?

It's a digital era, it'd be an absolute nightmare for me to prevent copyright theft and to focus valuable resources in charging you per pixel. Also, I don't like additional surcharges whenever I invest in a product or service so it's a case of practice what you preach.

I also sincerely believe that these are very very special photos. They surely belong to you at the end of the day. Who knows what is going to happen to me in the future? They should be safely kept by you!

With regards to testimonials & recommendations, is it possible to get in touch with a bride or groom that you photographed?

Absolutely, I have several couples who are willing to talk to anybody about my work. For privacy reasons I can't list their contact details online but am more than willing to give you their details by email.
