Wild Cloughjordan House Wedding Photography: Captured & Documented by Phil Voon

1. CLOUGHJORDAN HOUSE WEDDINGS

As a Cloughjordan House wedding photographer, you see a lot of love stories unfold. But sometimes, you witness a love story that just screams “We are in love”. Georgia and Patrick’s wedding on July 13th, 2024, at the utterly magical Cloughjordan House, was one such affair. These two lovebirds, these two two vibrant actors orchestrated their Irish wedding from across the pond in the UK, brought a whirlwind of energy, a touch of theatrical flair, and a whole lot of heart to the Tipperary countryside.

2. the weather

From the moment I arrived, the air crackled with excitement. Even the heavens seemed to be giving their blessing (or perhaps a dramatic drumroll) with a downpour during the morning prep. But as any seasoned performer knows, the show must go on! The rain cleared, the sun peeked through, and Cloughjordan House transformed into a playground of lawn games, laughter, and pure, unadulterated joy. There’s really nothing better than booking a venue for it’s grounds and having the weather to enjoy the reception outside.

3. the cloughjordan ceremony

The ceremony was intimate. Their friend officiated the ceremony in the beautifully converted barn, making the vows even more personal and heartfelt. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Georgia’s dad serenaded the couple with a touching guitar performance. And friends formed an acapella (how lucky eh?) , playing tunes that had everyone from grandparents to kids swaying. The raw emotion, the pride in everyone eyes – it was a moment that transcended words. As a documentary wedding photographer, these are the moments I live for. The stolen glances, the happy tears of friends and family, the shared laughter that just arrests these happy days.

The madness of wedding confetti and sparklers at cloughjordan house

And then, the party really started rocking. The confetti walk was a glorious, chaotic mess – confetti clinging to hair, sneaking into mouths, and adding a touch of glitter to the already electric atmosphere. I captured the pure, unadulterated joy on Georgia and Patrick’s faces as they walked then stumbled then blind leading blind their way through the rows of well-wishing confetti assaulters (wedding tip – get a friend to remind people to throw it up as high as possible to prevent confetti in the face!).

Later on that night, we stole a moment for a more intimate dance in a darkened corner of the gardens, the sparklers illuminating their faces like magic. We were meant to just light some sparklers but when someone cranked up the tunes from their phone, it turned into a sing along dance number.

Even the cake cutting became a family affair, with the kids bravely taking charge of the knife (and sneaking a finger or two or three into the deliciousness). It was a perfectly imperfect moment.

5. The dancing at cloughjordan house

The music, provided by a band of talented friends, kept the dance floor packed all night. These guys weren’t just playing music; they were channeling the spirit of the day, turning up the volume on the love and celebration with the help of a few jagerbombs along the way.

6. what more can i say?

Can you believe that Georgia & Patrick had attended a music festival the day before their wedding? Not many couples have this type of energy, that same level of energy and love to their day. It was a celebration of life, love, and the bonds that tie us. Every photo I took as your Irish Wedding Photographer tells a story of laughter, tears, and the joy of coming together.
Here’s to Georgia and Patrick for a day that was as vibrant and full of life as they are. If you’re planning your own, remember: it’s all about capturing those real, heartfelt moments. A few posed photographs are great, but it’s not a magazine shoot, it’s the day you celebrated your love with family and friends. Thank you Georgia & Patrick.
